Luxembourg, 14/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - In its "Evangelischer Krankenhausverein Wien" ruling, the Court of Justice declared the Austrian municipal tax on alcoholic beverages incompatible with European law. Vienna's Protestant association, which manages hospitals, refused to pay this tax on drinks sold in its cafeterias.
