Brussels, 13/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - Romano Prodi has brought proceedings before a civil court in Rome for an article published in Il Giornale on 30 November 1999 about the sale in 1985 of the food group SME by IRI, of which he was Chairman. The proceedings for defamation and failure to control have been brought against Pietro Armani, Alleanza Nazionale MP in Italy, whose interview is the subject of the proceedings, and Mario Cervi, Editor-in-Chief of the Italian daily.
