07/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - On an official visit to Stockholm, the European Commissioner responsible for the Internal Market, Frits Bolkestein confirmed that the European Commission would not allow Sweden to extend its restrictive regime on the import of alcohol beyond 30 June 2000 (see EUROPE of 2 February, p.16). Past that date, if Sweden has not amended its legislation, it will be in contradiction with community legislation, and the European Commission may engage an infringement...
