In France, GUYOMARC'H NA (animal feed) has taken control of the animal health laboratory FRANVET (FF 123 million turnover in 1999). It has taken a "majority stake of less than 60%" with an option to rise to 80% in two years. Meanwhile, some hundred veterinary practices will sill hold over30% of the capital. This operation will enable GUYOMARC'H NA to have about half of the French market in medicinal pre-mixes with a turnover of some FF 134 million.
