NESTLE (Switzerland) has announced its acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, of POWERBAR (sales of USD 135 million in 1999), the number one US firm in energy and nutritional bars. NESTLE's American subsidiaries have annual sales of USD 8 billion and employ 19,500 people.
