- Basque Community: According to La Lettre d'Euskadi, a monthly newsletter on the Autonomous Basque Community (CAV), Basque enterprises made foreign investments of FRF 11 billion in the first half of 1999, an increase of 354%. Leading destinations were Brazil (48.6%) and European Union Member States (22.5%). In the opposite direction, foreign investors spent a little more than 4 billion in the CAV.
