Parliament expresses majority opinion in favour of broad implementation of "Equal" initiative against discrimination

Strasbourg, 18/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption - with changes - of the report by Austrian Conservative Ursula Stenzel on the guidelines of the Community Initiative Programmes (CIP) for which the Member States are invited to submit requests for aid in the context of the Equal initiative, the European Parliament approves the Equal programme which gives concrete substance to the EU's determination to strengthen social cohesion and fight against discrimination.
