WTO tries to define a work programme susceptible of re-establishing confidence - Priority given to services and agriculture in hope of then re-launching new comprehensive trade talks

Geneva, 10/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - This week's session of the General Council of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) obtained expected results in the sense that:

i)  An atmosphere of moderate confidence has been re-established, after the shock of the Seattle Conference;

ii)  A work programme has been prepared, which should enable them to restart multilateral negotiations. The priority is given to the two negotitations already forseen after the Uraguay Round, concerning the services and...
