ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

The cable-telecommunications group UPC -UNITED PN-EUROPE COMMUNICATIONS- plans to buy KETT GROUP (turnover of NLG 161 million in 1999), the cable activity of the Dutch gas and electricity distributor ENECO for NLG 2.35 billion. Further, UPC has signed a definitive agreement with a view to the upcoming acquisition of TEBECAI (sales of NLG 18 million in 1999), another Dutch cable operator, for around NLG 157 million.
