04/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The German Federal Government has given its go-ahead to the forthcoming lifting of the embargo on British beef, which will nevertheless have to bear a label showing its origin and the identification mark "XEL" before it can be released on the German market. This proposal for a decree is now before the Bundesrat, which is expected to state its view on 17 March next.
