Brussels, 07/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The French Permanent Representation to the European Union will welcome, on Tuesday January 18, a seminar on the "Future of rail in Europe". To discuss the development of freight and passenger transport, combined transport as well as European policy with regard to transport. Numerous speakers are planned for the day's debates, among them will be: Loyola de Palacio, European Commissioner for Transports, Louis Gallois, President of the French national railways (SNCF) and the Community of European Railways (CER), Maarten G. Labberton, general delegate of the International Road Union (IRU) and Rudy Colle, Director General of the International Union of combined road-rail transport companies.
