05/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has until 25 January to give its views on the proposed Promodes/Carrefour merger, and not until 12 January as initially announced. France and Spain have (for the aspect of the merger linked to the Pryca and Continente supermarkets controlled by the French distribution giants) requested that they be involved in examination of the merger. The time allowed is therefore extended from four to six weeks.
