According to the Sunday Business, the British engine manufacturer ROLLS-ROYCE (£4.5 bn turnover for the fiscal year 1998-99) is studying a plan to merge with the American group PRATT & WHITNEY ($7.8 bn turnover in 1998). According to the terms of the plan, the British group would take control of the new entity. The two groups are already partners with the consortium IAE (INTERNATIONAL AERO-ENGINE).
