The Swedish group SKANSKA has sold its German subsidiary ESSMANN (SEK 725 million turnover in 1998), active in building, public works and engineering to the Dutch investment company ALPINVEST HOLDING for an undisclosed amount but that slightly exceeds ESSMANN's book value of DM 110 million. In addition, SKANSA has announced: i) that it has taken a 61% stake in EMV, one of the largest Estonian construction companies, at SEK 16 a share, or a total of SEK 47.4 million, with the possibility of acquiring the remainder of the capital; ii) the sale of SKANSKA DREDGING and SKANSKA RUOPPAUS, two dredging companies, to the Dutch BOSKALIS WESTMINSTER INTERNATIONAL, sale from which it should make a SEK 50 million profit.
