Eurojust presents outcomes of its activities for 2025

The EU Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, Eurojust, published its Consolidated Annual Activity Report for 2025, on Tuesday 30 June. It shows that the Agency handled 13,946 cross-border crime cases last year, almost 60% more than in 2020, when around 8,800 cases had been recorded.

According to the Report, Eurojust achieved 77% of its annual performance indicators. Scams and fraud, drug trafficking and money laundering accounted for almost two-thirds of the cases handled by the Agency.

To facilitate cross-border investigations, Eurojust organised 656 coordination meetings and 16 coordination centres.

The Agency also supported 412 joint investigation teams, 11% more than in 2024. It was also involved in the execution of European arrest warrants and European investigation orders, instruments designed to facilitate judicial cooperation between the Member States.

In addition, Eurojust says it contributed to the seizure or freezing of nearly €1.2 billion in criminal assets.

More than 70 cases involving major international crimes were also handled.

The Agency also continued developing its database devoted to evidence relating to these offences, which makes it possible to store, analyse and share evidence in investigations concerning, in particular, war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocides.
