26/05/25 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 22 May, the European Commission launched a call for proposals for EU action grants under the EU’s ‘Fiscalis’ cooperation programme, which enables national tax administrations to create and exchange information and expertise. The call covers two grants which aim to enhance the research capacity and ensure the involvement of research institutions in the design and implementation of EU actions to fight the tax gap notably in relation to tax evasion, tax avoidance and aggressive tax planning. It is also about promoting fair taxation, as well as contributing to the design of tax systems that are well-functioning and efficient and deliver on competitiveness and on the tools to support policy priorities.
