EU wants to be firm with Washington, but not announcing any measures

US President Donald Trump has struck again in his trade war. On Thursday 13 February, he announced reciprocal tariffs applied to all his trading partners, which will have to act as a mirror to the different tariff rates applied by its trading partners, including developing countries. The new US measures would also target other non-customs ‘barriers’, such as VAT levied by the states, which Donald Trump sees as a double tax.
