At its meeting on 19 February, the Committee for the Common Organisation of the Agricultural Markets is expected to vote in favour of a European Commission regulation providing €98.6 million in emergency financial support to agricultural sectors affected by adverse weather conditions in Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia and Hungary.
According to the text, which still has to be ratified by the EU countries at this committee meeting, this exceptional aid should be paid to farmers before 30 September 2025.
Total Community support (financed from the agricultural crisis reserve) is broken down as follows: €68 million for Spain, €6.7 million for Croatia, €3.5 million for Cyprus, €4.2 million for Latvia and €16.2 million for Hungary.
These countries will be able to grant additional national support of up to 200% of the respective amounts set.
