On Monday 10 February, a ceremony will be held in Bruges, Belgium, to inaugurate the new European Health Union Fellowship, in the presence of Rector of the College of Europe Federica Mogherini, Director-General Sandra Gallina of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (SANTE), and András Tivadar Kulja (EPP, Hungarian), member of the European Parliament.
This is a fellowship programme designed to promote learning, knowledge exchange and collaboration on critical health issues. The programme brings together public health experts nominated by the Member States and selected on the basis of their experience in the field of public health in the EU. A team of widely recognised experts will train the fellows. The fellowship complements existing programmes by offering practice-based training and strengthening a thriving community of health experts from the Member States.
European Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare Olivér Várhelyi will give a video address at the ceremony. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
