Corning may have abused position on global market for special type of glass, according to European Commission

On Wednesday 6 November, the European Commission opened a formal investigation to determine whether Corning may have abused its dominant position on the global market for a special type of glass used mainly to protect the screens of portable electronic devices such as mobile phones.

Corning (United States) is a global producer of glass, including Alkali-aluminosilicate glass for mobile phones, tablets and smartwatches. This Alkali-AS glass is branded Gorilla Glass.
