European Commission adopts delegated act for inclusion of offshore vessels under emissions monitoring system

On Wednesday 16 October, the European Commission adopted a delegated act aimed at clarifying the inclusion of greenhouse gas emissions from offshore vessels in the regulation on monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) for maritime transport.

This MRV maritime regulation was revised in 2023 (https://aeur.eu/f/dxh) as part of the ‘Fit for 55’ package intended to include greenhouse gas emissions from offshore vessels within its scope from 1 January 2025. This should apply to all...
