The European Union has released €2.2 million in humanitarian aid to help the people worst affected by Typhoon Yagi, one of the most powerful typhoons to hit the South East Asian region in decades.
This funding will help meet the most urgent needs, such as food, water, sanitation and healthcare.
The largest amount (€1.2 million) is earmarked for humanitarian action in Myanmar, where the storm has hit regions already badly affected by the ongoing armed conflict (see EUROPE B13416A13).
