Slovenian government reconsidering choice of future European Commissioner in response to Ursula von der Leyen’s calls for parity

On Friday 6 September, the Slovenian media reported that the government of Robert Golob (Renew Europe) had officially agreed to change its choice of European Commissioner, replacing the current candidate, Tomaž Vesel, with a female candidate.

According to 24ur.com, the re-elected President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, was not satisfied with the Slovenian government’s initial proposal.
