The main obstacle to the large-scale deployment of renewable energies is now access to the grid, according to Wind Europe, the European wind energy association, in a new report published on 5 July.
It points out that more than 500 GW of wind power capacity in countries such as France, Germany, Italy and the UK are awaiting an assessment of their application to be connected to the grid.
