European Commission to re-examine Slovak aid granted to NAJPI for creation of a silica sand extraction site

On Tuesday 9 July, the European Commission announced that it had opened an in-depth investigation to examine the conformity of €4.99 million in regional aid to the Slovakian company NAJPI a.s. This aid was granted to NAJPI to help it set up a silica sand extraction site in the Slovak region of Trnavský kraj, Západné Slovensko.

The aid was authorised by the Commission in 2017 under the General Block Exemption Regulation.
