In Vilnius, a High-Level Conference aims to give new impetus to “European Social Charter”

Proposed in May 2023, at the fourth Council of Europe Summit held in Reykjavik, a High-Level Conference on the “European Social Charter” was organised on Thursday 4 July in Vilnius, under the auspices of the Lithuanian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers.

It concluded with a Political Declaration stressing the importance of the Charter system, denouncing Russia’s war of aggression and expressing solidarity with displaced Ukrainians.
