Tax policy can remedy job shortage, but must be accompanied by other complementary policies, say European experts

At a conference organised by the European Commission on Thursday 4 July to mark the publication of its latest report (see EUROPE B13445A13), European experts argued that progressive income tax which is tailored to a range of employment types could remedy the shortage of jobs. However, these measures alone will not solve the problem.
