Autonomous trade measures for Ukraine, qualified majority difficult to achieve in EU Council

25/03/24 (Agence Europe) – The provisional agreement reached between EU Council and European Parliament negotiators on the suspension of tariffs on imports from Ukraine has still not been approved by the EU27. The Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States to the EU (‘Coreper’) postponed their vote on this text for the second time on Monday 25 March (see EUROPE B13375A9). More time is needed for consultations, according to a European diplomat.
