The success of the negotiations is “within reach”, according to Icelandic Secretary of State Martin Eyjólfsson, who is leading the fisheries negotiations at the World Trade Organization (WTO). Since Tuesday 27 February, WTO members have been discussing Phase II of the fisheries subsidies agreement with a view to reaching an agreement at the 13th Ministerial Conference, which runs until 29 February in Abu Dhabi (see EUROPE B13357A5).
