On Tuesday 27 February, the European Commission announced a further €171 million in macro-financial aid for the Greater Horn of Africa region. The funding will be used to address the acute food and nutrition crisis in the region, improve access to basic services, provide education and protection to children, and set up disaster contingency planning.
