An efficient system, but still in need of improvement, Commission unveils its report on competitiveness of internal market

On Wednesday 14 February, the European Commission presented its annual report on the state of the internal market and European competitiveness. Based on the ‘nine factors of competitiveness’ identified in March 2023 (see EUROPE B13143A3), the report details the strengths and weaknesses of the single market and suggests ways of improving it in the face of new global challenges.

The report points out that the single market is “one of the largest integrated market areas in the world”...
