European Works Councils, MEPs will continue to try to improve proposal put forward by European Commission

MEPs on the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) debated, on Wednesday 14 February, the proposal to revise the Directive on European Works Councils (EWCs) (see EUROPE B13335A19).

Having chosen the urgency procedure to adopt this revision, the MEPs, led by rapporteur Dennis Radtke (EPP, German), want to improve the text proposed by the Commission, particularly the section on sanctions against companies that do not comply with the rules on EWCs.
