Removal of terrorist content online, Member States have issued 349 removal orders to platforms since June 2022

On Wednesday 14 February, the European Commission published its first report on the Regulation on the removal of terrorist content from the Internet, which comes into force in June 2022. 

Its report takes into account the impact of the situation in the Middle East on the online threat landscape up to 31 December 2023, and in particular highlights the increase in content removal orders since the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023, particularly in Germany.
