European Commission proposes to negotiate new fisheries protocol with Guinea-Bissau

19/01/24 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 17 January, the European Commission proposed that the Council of the European Union authorise it to negotiate, on behalf of the EU, the conclusion of a new protocol implementing the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the EU and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. The current protocol grants fishing opportunities to EU fishing vessels in Guinea-Bissau waters. The agreement came into force on 16 June 2007 and has been tacitly renewed every 4 years....
