The EU’s monthly agri-food trade surplus reached its highest level for three years in October 2023 at €6.9 billion, according to the Commission’s latest report.
The cumulative trade balance from January to October 2023 reached €58 billion, €10.6 billion more than for the same period in 2022.
Exports continue to rise, and are up 5% compared with September 2023. While the total value of cereal exports fell as a result of the fall in prices, their volume increased by 5%.
