Vote against Hungary on risk of violating European values, petition launched in European Parliament collected 120 signatures

On Friday 12 January, Finnish EPP MEP Petri Sarvamaa announced that he had collected 120 signatures on a petition calling on the EU Council to activate the voting procedure provided for in Article 7 of the Treaty against Hungary in order to establish the existence of a clear risk of violation of European values (see EUROPE B13325A20).

This is the stage preceding a decision on the withdrawal of voting rights from a member country concerned by this procedure. The European Parliament will...
