05/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission launched, on Friday 5 January, a call for contributions on a draft delegated regulation on the revision of maximum levels for certain undesirable substances in animal feed. This public consultation concerns the updating of Annexes I and II of Directive 2002/32/EC in order to guarantee a high level of protection for health and the environment and not to harm animal production. The project includes: - setting maximum levels for nickel, Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC) and p-phenotidine; - changes to maximum levels for arsenic, cadmium, lead, ergot, endosulfan, heptachlor, hexachlorobenzene, hexachlorocyclohexane, dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs, and Datura seeds; - changes to action levels for dioxins and PCBs.
