EU condemns pace of executions

01/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – With credible reports that a minor, Hamidreza Azadi, and a protester, Milad Zohrevand, were executed in Iran on 24 and 23 November respectively, the spokesman for the European External Action Service denounced the pace of executions in the country on Friday 1 December. “The current pace of executions in Iran, at least 600 since January, is appalling”, he stressed in a press release, reiterating the EU’s opposition to the death penalty.
