European Commission authorises acquisition of BPMA, VA and VP by GCA and BBPM Group to conduct business in insurance sector

01/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 1 December, the European Commission announced that it had approved the acquisition of joint control of BBPM Assicurazioni S.p.A. (Italy), Vera Assicurazioni S.p.A. (Italy) and Vera Protezione S.p.A. (Italy) by the Groupe Crédit Agricole (France) and Banco BPM Group (Italy). This transaction was notified on 3 November and examined under the simplified merger control procedure. The merged entity will operate mainly in the insurance sector in Italy....
