EU Council formally adopts regulation to strengthen controls

13/11/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 November, the EU Council of Ministers adopted the regulation revising the control system for fishing operations. Italy and Finland voted against the text, while Portugal and Latvia abstained (see EUROPE B13284A14). The regulation will enter into force 20 days after it is published in the Official Journal of the EU. However, a number of measures will be implemented progressively.
