European Patent Office launches Observatory on Patents and Technology

06/10/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Patent Office (EPO) celebrated its fiftieth anniversary on Thursday 5 October. The Convention creating the basis of the European patent system was signed on 5 October 1973. Since then, the EPO has granted more than two million European patents and now processes more than 190,000 international patent applications every year.
