EU Council adopts its position on EU 2024 budget

The Member States’ ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) approved, on Wednesday 12 July, the EU Council’s position on the EU’s draft budget plan for 2024, which provides for €187.008 billion in commitment appropriations and €141.167 billion in payment appropriations.

 This budget breaks down as follows:

- section 1. ‘Single Market, Innovation and Digital’: €21.2 billion in commitment appropriations and €20.91 billion in payment appropriations;
