European Parliament pays tribute to Milan Kundera

12/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament, meeting for its plenary session in Strasbourg, observed a minute’s silence on Wednesday 12 July in memory of Milan Kundera, who died earlier in the day. Bernard Guetta (Renew Europe, French), who had proposed the tribute, stressed that the Franco-Czech writer “embodied the unity of Europe” and was “one of the great figures of the Prague Spring [and] of the denunciation of Communist totalitarianism”.
