European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, visited pioneering decarbonisation technology projects in Belgium

On the morning of Friday 7 July, the European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, visited the hydrogen pipeline construction site in Lokeren (Belgium), run by the Fluxys Group, which specialises in natural gas infrastructure and transmission. Ms Simson pointed out that this pipeline will not only link the EU’s industrial centres, but will also help to decarbonise sectors such as “refineries, chemicals, fertiliser and steel production”.
