France releases €26 million to help Tunisia manage illegal immigration into EU

20/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 19 June, French Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, announced almost €26 million in aid for Tunisia to combat illegal immigration, reported AFP, as part of a visit to the country with his German counterpart, Nancy Faeser. Tunisian President Kais Saied warned that his country would not become Europe’s “border guard”.
