Margrethe Vestager stands for EIB presidency

20/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 20 June, European Commission Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager confirmed her “availability” to stand as a candidate for the presidency of the European Investment Bank (EIB), replacing Germany’s Werner Hoyer, whose second six-year term runs until the end of 2023. “I am pleased that the Danish government [has] put forward my name”, she indicated in a statement to the press.
