Waste electrical and electronic equipment, EU Council adopts position on aligning EU legislation with Court judgement

On 16 June, the Council of the EU adopted its position on the European Commission’s proposal to amend EU legislation on the management of waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) to bring it into line with a Court of Justice of the EU judgment. The Council is now ready to negotiate with the European Parliament once Parliament has given its opinion.
