EU concerned about violence in Jenin and new Israeli settlement projects

On Monday 19 June, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service expressed deep concern about “the latest events in Jenin”, an Israeli military operation involving the use of helicopter gunships in a Palestinian refugee camp, which reportedly left at least five people dead and around 60 injured. 

“Military operations must be proportionate and in line with international humanitarian law”, the spokesperson emphasised in a press release.
