Brussels, 15/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 June, the European Commission and the Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER) published their final opinion on the need to revise the annexes to Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC (on the limitation of exposure of the general public to electromagnetic fields) and Directive 2013/35/EU (minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents) in view of the latest scientific evidence available on radio frequencies (100kHz - 300GHz). The opinion calls for a review based on new technical data and emerging applications that have become available. There is no evidence of potential adverse health effects at exposure levels below the current recommendation. For more information: https://aeur.eu/f/7hq (LC)
