27/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 27 April, MEPs on the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade (INTA) approved a report by Sandra Kalniete (EPP, Latvian) to extend the suspension of import duties from Ukraine until June 2024 (27 votes in favour, 1 against and 7 abstentions). As agreed, they did not add any amendments to the Commission’s proposal in order to adopt the text quickly (see EUROPE 13128/4). “These measures are pivotal to strengthening Ukraine’s resilience in the present and with an eye toward the future, as we work to advance Ukraine’s gradual integration in the EU internal market”, Ms Kalniete said.
